Salary: £48,349 – £52,711 a year pro rata

Are you passionate about inclusive education and supporting learners with special educational needs? We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Teacher to join our SEN advisory team.

In this key role, you’ll work collaboratively with headteachers, SENCOs, Inclusion Managers, and teaching staff, offering expert guidance to help schools successfully support the inclusion of children and young people with a diverse range of special needs.

You’ll also promote strong multi-agency working, building effective relationships with external professionals and parents to ensure joined-up support. The role requires flexibility to meet the needs of learners across all age groups and key stages, with particular focus on KS2 and above.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Teacher to play a key role in promoting inclusive practice and improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across mainstream schools.

As part of your role you will observe and assess children, offering expert advice, delivering high-quality educational reports, and support schools in assessing, planning, and implementing tailored strategies to improve attainment and learning behaviours.

You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations tactfully and work effectively with families, external agencies, and statutory partners. A deep understanding of current SEND legislation, equality principles, and inclusive teaching approaches is essential.

The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status along with further qualifications or professional development in SEND. You’ll also bring confidence in analysing standardised assessments to inform targeted support for pupils with a wide range of needs. Experience with KS2 and higher year groups is advantageous.

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
