Are you a Project Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you have a background in delivering a similar role in a regulated engineering environment? This Project Engineer position is based at our site in Portsmouth, sits within our bespoke engineering solutions business, where we develop life-support systems in critical workspace, oxygen and carbon capture based solutions, water purification, rugged electronics for harsh environments and precision engineering of high-integrity equipment. At CMS2, we specialise in the design and manufacture of atmospheric control systems for the defence industry and are part of Science Group Plc. The Role The Project Engineer will coordinate and facilitate key engineering activities on projects, working alongside Project Managers and the Project Engineering Manager to ensure the technical content of the project is delivered successfully to the customer\’s requirements. Working with the wider team some the key responsibilities and tasks will be: Create and maintain specifications, project BOMs and other documentation required to deliver the technical content of the project. Identify technical risks to the Project Manager and work on the appropriate strategies for risk management. Provide technical support for procurement, production and quality throughout the project lifecycle Assist test engineers in testing and commissioning of equipment including ensuring design reviews are held, FMEAs are conducted and appropriate test plans are in place Contribute to the design and development activities relating to the project. Providing technical guidance to the engineering resources assigned, including managing the flow of information from technical specialists undertaking work related to the project Report on the technical content of the project to the Project Engineering Manager. This includes holding regular reviews to ensure the right approach is being followed, and that any requirements for additional expertise are addressed. Provide technical support for the Project Manager in customer communications. Track activities to project plans and budgets, regularly reporting to the Project Manager on progress. As the project engineer, you will lead the design and development activities relating to the projects, overseeing the flow of information from technical specialists undertaking work related to the project. You will ensure there is clear reporting on the delivery of tasks and work packages; this will assist the project manager in accurately delivering the project plan.
