Your Role And Responsibilities
IBM is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Developer to join our team, with a focus on serving the public sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in full‑stack development, with a strong preference for those well‑versed in Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a Lead Developer, you will guide IBM into the future by translating system requirements into the design and development of customised systems in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of developers in designing, coding, testing, and implementing new software applications or significant enhancements to existing ones.
- Oversee the entire software development life cycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define project scope and objectives, and translate them into technical requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Leverage your AWS expertise to design, deploy, manage, and scale applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrate leadership by driving best practices and enhancing development processes.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Proven experience as a Lead Developer or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in software development.
- In‑depth knowledge of full‑stack development, including front‑end and back‑end technologies.
- Extensive experience working in the public sector, understanding its unique challenges and requirements.
- Proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and more. Experience with serverless architectures is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate and coach team members effectively.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
- Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. An advanced degree would be advantageous.
Desirable Certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional level.
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate or Professional level.
- Any relevant IBM certifications would be beneficial.
