Opportunity Overview The University of Salford is looking to appoint a part-time Lecturer (0.6FTE) to join our Sociology and Criminology team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and teaching in higher education and will be committed to developing and delivering high quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels whilst also undertaking high quality research activity. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing our students for careers in the modern world. You will contribute to teaching, research and leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, building on our strengths and developing new ideas to meet the demands of a changing world. A bit about the School of Health and Society The Directorate of Social Sciences is a vibrant and research active part of the School with a strong interdisciplinary orientation. It includes the subject areas of Criminology, Sociology, Social Policy, Policing, Social Work and Counselling and Psychotherapy and has a portfolio of creative under- and postgraduate taught programmes, CPD for related professionals and innovative enterprise projects. Central to its research excellence is the Centre for Research on Inclusive Society (CRIS) which drives impactful work addressing social inequalities and fostering inclusivity. The directorate has a strong research profile with significant funded projects and publications, plus a growing number of PhD candidates as well as funded study opportunities.
