POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a strategic and influential Regional Product Manager to lead the vision, development, and direction of our product offering across key territories. In this pivotal role, you’ll work across functions and regions to define market-leading solutions that drive sustainable growth. If you’re a skilled communicator with a background in engineering, product strategy, and commercial insight and you thrive on turning complex challenges into clear, actionable plans then we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Define and deliver a five-year rolling product strategy for your region, informed by stakeholder insight across the business
- Lead the development and lifecycle planning of standard and optional product configurations, ensuring commercial viability and market relevance
- Create annual plans and budgets for engineering support across product development, customer projects, aftermarket initiatives, and cost reduction
- Set clear technical and commercial product targets based on competitive market analysis to maximise margin and sales performance
- Drive engineering change by coordinating requirement reviews, impact assessments, and cost analysis, ensuring efficient delivery of product updates
- Report regularly on product strategy, progress against plans, budgets, and capacity to key internal stakeholders
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
We’re looking for a strategic thinker with strong technical foundations and excellent people skills. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in technical or product management, ideally supported by a recognised management qualification
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for UK bus products
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels
- Sharp negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to manage complex, and sometimes competing, requirements
- Experience in vehicle engineering, project delivery, cost control and budgeting
- A methodical, organised and disciplined approach, combined with the tenacity to drive results and the diplomacy to align diverse viewpoints
- A willingness to quickly develop in-depth knowledge of the bus industry, products, markets and customers
Bonus points if you also have:
- Formal qualifications in product or project management
- Membership of relevant professional bodies
- Prior experience in the bus or wider public transport sector
