Account Manager at Venesky-Brown Recruitment

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Data Protection Assistant for an initial 2-month contract, with potential to extend, on a rate of £16.31/hour PAYE. This role will be remote, with attendance only required for initial equipment set-up in one of their locations across Scotland.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor, research and respond to requests for information, ensuring appropriate prioritisation and that the Service’s statutory obligations and deadlines are met.
  2. Processing Subject Access Requests and Data Requests from applicants, including employees and third-party stakeholders, dealing with them promptly and in compliance with GDPR.
  3. Research, analyse and review, both electronic and paper, the information sources, ensuring we gather all the information that is held to respond fully to all information requests.
  4. Check the organisation’s mailbox on a regular basis in the absence of team members to ensure allocated matters are picked up and actioned.
  5. Operate a diary management system to ensure legal deadlines are met.
  6. Liaise, advise and negotiate with information owners concerning the potential release of sensitive and complex information.
  7. Protect against the inappropriate disclosure of information while retaining compliance with the legislation.
  8. Ensure key contacts are properly informed of the legal requirements and provided with sufficient information to accurately balance the legal obligations against the risks of disclosure.
  9. Advise and contribute orally and in writing in relation to responding to requests for information, particularly when sharing information with external partners.
  10. Advise and liaise with colleagues within the communications team/external partners concerning high-profile requests.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong understanding of GDPR regulations.
  2. Experience in a similar role in data protection, redaction or human resources.
  3. Redaction experience would be highly advantageous.
