Retail Security Officer at Argenbright Security Europe Limited – ASEL

Overview

ASEL is part of the Argenbright Holdings Group, a privately owned security services organisation with broad experience across aviation, facilities management and technology. ASEL designs, develops and delivers bespoke, integrated security solutions that combine people, technology and processes to protect people, assets and information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
  • Assess vulnerabilities and proactively minimise risk.
  • Liaise with management and local authorities when required.
  • Manage vulnerable persons with empathy and minimise distress.
  • Complete colleague and contractor searches in line with customer policy.
  • Digitally report incidents and use mobile devices for daily activity planning.
  • Provide detailed and legible incident reports for the client and authorities.

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence (current).
  • Previous retail security experience is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a calm and professional approach to conflict.
  • Ability to provide a 5‑year checkable work or educational history.
  • Right to work in the UK and recent proof of address.

Location & Working Hours

Location: Crawley, West Sussex, United Kingdom (RH11 9BA)

Hours: 46 hours per week (2‑week rolling rota)

Shift pattern: 13:15 – 21:15 on weekdays and Saturdays; 10:15 – 16:15 on Sundays.

Pay & Contract

Hourly Rate: £12.30

Contract: Permanent – full time

The Person

To be an effective Security Officer you will need to be a confident communicator, able to give detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents, welcoming and patient with customers, and capable of handling conflict in a calm and professional manner.
