Deputy Team Manager (Occupational Therapist) – Contact Team, Southwark Adult Social Care Southwark Adult Social Care is seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist Deputy Team Manager (DTM) to join the Contact Team within the Older People and Physical Disabilities (OPPD) service. This is a rewarding leadership role with a strong focus on quality, collaboration, and service improvement. The role offers a full-time locum contract at £40.26 per hour, with a supportive multidisciplinary structure and meaningful impact on community wellbeing. Main Responsibilities of the Deputy Team Manager (OT): Provide leadership, supervision, and professional guidance to Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and unqualified staff across the Contact Team. Work in partnership with the Team Manager to manage performance, support reflective practice, and maintain a high standard of service delivery. Promote a strengths-based, person-centred approach to assessment and intervention. Ensure timely, appropriate decision-making regarding care needs, equipment provision, adaptations, safeguarding, and onward referrals. Support quality assurance, service improvement, and contribute to the wider strategic objectives of Southwark ASC. Lead by example as an expert practitioner and positive role model within the team. Assist with complex case discussions, legal matters (including court-related work), and multi-agency planning where required. To Be Successful: Substantial post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist in Adult Social Care. Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience. HCPC registration. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, etc.). Enhanced DBS (we can support with this). Eligibility to work in the UK.
