We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of one of our long-standing, fantastic clients – renowned for their dynamic product offering and wonderful company culture. They’re currently on the hunt for a motivated Assistant Buyer to join their homewares side, specifically working on the Toys team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Select a product range which maximises sales opportunities and anticipates customers needs, under the guidance of the Buyer
  2. Manage suppliers and brands, attending trade shows and buying appointments
  3. Review marketplace and latest trends
  4. Pull together samples and swatches from potential suppliers
  5. Manage development meetings for the departments in the absence of the Buyer when necessary
  6. Assist the Buyer to create and compile detailed briefs for new developments
  7. Assist in range building and product selection
  8. Develop close relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate samples
  9. Manage the critical path dates and schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  10. Write product copy and load cross-sells
  11. Review in-season trade for the Buyer
  12. Set up and manage all buying administration systems and procedures to ensure product availability
  13. Manage the sample room and process

Additional Information:

This role is hybrid working and is commutable from areas across the North East and North West.

Experience in toys is not essential, but experience in homewares, beauty, electricals, or gifting would be beneficial.
