Contract Database Administrator (DBA) – Fully Remote (UK-Based)
We’re working with a forward-thinking tech company building an innovative AI-driven platform, and they’re on the lookout for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA).
You’ll play a vital role in managing, optimising, and securing a modern data ecosystem – supporting business-critical systems across Microsoft SQL Server, Azure PostgreSQL, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Administering and fine-tuning SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases in Azure.
- Supporting PostGIS and spatial data capabilities.
- Monitoring performance, managing backups, and ensuring high availability.
- Collaborating with DevOps, data, and engineering teams on database strategy.
- Supporting large-scale data workflows through Azure Data Lake.
What we\’re looking for:
- 5+ years of DBA experience across SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on with Azure SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Data Lake Storage.
- Strong grasp of database security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
- Familiar with PostGIS and large-scale data architecture.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
- Exposure to CI/CD and analytics platforms
