Founded by a leading industry expert this company specialises in the development and manufacture of niche products and have recently invested heavily in technology and research. This has enabled them now to become one of the market leaders in their field whilst also maintaining strong profit margins. To support planned strategic expansion they would like to recruit an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller on an interim basis for 3-6 months with a view to becoming permanent. The ideal candidate for this position would be available at short notice and possess previous experience of a financial management role in a growing SME, Manufacturing / Engineering sector experience would be advantageous, their production processes are very specialised and as such require careful monitoring and control of raw materials. The role will carry responsibility for a small finance / admin team so will be very hands on and will include: Producing the management accounts and board reportsPreparing cashflow forecasts to tight reporting deadlinesCreating budgets and reviewing performanceDeveloping KPIs and improving reportsReview and implementation of cost reduction strategiesManagement of cashflow, controlling expenditure / costInvestment / CAPEX appraisalsControlling all transactional activityPreparation of statutory accounts, tax, VAT & HMRC mattersManaging external relationships with banks and auditors etc.Collaborating across the business to support financial performance You will be joining a close knit management team consisting largely of sales and technical experts so the ability to convey financial matters in a clear and concise manner is essential along with a flair for understanding production and warehousing systems. The role will report into the MD and you will also get exposure to a part-time FD who has a wealth of experience.
