Medical Receptionists – Temporary Opportunities

We are currently recruiting experienced Medical Receptionists to support a range of busy GP surgeries and medical centres on a temporary basis. These opportunities are ideal for reliable, adaptable professionals who are confident working in fast‑paced primary care environments and available to support short‑term and ongoing temporary cover.

Successful candidates will have previous experience working within medical practices and be confident using clinical systems such as EMIS, Docman, and Accurx Triage. Many of these roles are available to start at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a high volume of inbound patient calls and booking appointments via EMIS
  • Registering new patients and completing associated administrative tasks
  • Processing prescription requests in line with practice policies
  • Managing requests for information for Doctors, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Supporting the smooth running of the reception area and maintaining a clean and tidy environment

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist within a GP surgery or medical practice
  • Strong working knowledge of the EMIS system (essential)
  • Previous experience using Docman and Accurx Triage
  • The ability to prioritise workloads, multitask, and work well under pressure
  • A positive, flexible, and team‑focused approach
  • A valid DBS check (ideally registered on the update service)
