Join Our Team as a Male Positive Behaviour Support Worker – Drivers Only

Location: Kennington, Oxfordshire

Salary: £14.20 per hour plus benefits

Hours: 8.00am to 8.00pm and 8.00pm to 8.00am (Monday to Sunday on a mixed shift rota basis. Shifts may vary based on support needs)

Contract: Casual

Driving Requirement: A valid full UK manual driving license is essential, as you will need to drive an alternative vehicle

Who You Will Be Supporting: Hi! I am a young man with autism and moderate learning difficulties, living alone in a purpose-built home. I value routine and predictability. I enjoy going out in my vehicle on pre-planned routes, listening to music, radio, coloring activities, and going out in my van. My mother is very important to me and involved in my support. My favorite food is pasta. Support workers need to be dedicated, resilient, creative, flexible, and able to think outside the box to help me reach my full potential. I have been institutionalized most of my life, but with the support of SeeAbility\’s staff, my days are now active and enjoyable.

Essential Criteria: To be considered, you should have experience with:

  • Behaviours of concern
  • Autism and learning disabilities
  • Positive Behaviour Support
  • Restraint Reduction (desirable but not essential)

This role is suitable for those studying or interested in behaviour, psychology, Positive Behaviour Support, or Applied Behaviour Analysis.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Support Worker, you will be more than just support – you will be a key part of someone\’s journey to living their best life. Your responsibilities include:

  • Daily Care & Support: Assisting with personal care, meals, medication, and daily tasks.
  • Building Relationships: Understanding the needs of the person you support and helping them live independently.
  • Empowering Independence: Supporting personal goals and encouraging creative exploration with a Positive Behaviour Specialist, using a least restrictive approach.
  • Social Engagement: Supporting activities like holidays, social events, hobbies, and driving him around in his vehicle.
  • Respect & Dignity: Ensuring respect, dignity, and equality for the individual and their family.
