Project Design Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Responsibilities
- Work closely within Engineering to develop bespoke design solutions for paint finishing systems.
- Complete full set manufacturing drawings from general arrangement drawings.
- Design fabricated sheet metal parts and assemblies.
- Manage a project from handover, site delivery, to completion.
- Procure components and materials in support of the project.
- Attend project meetings and conduct site surveys.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support customers with technical queries.
- Compile and maintain technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven engineering knowledge and (preferred) project management experience.
- Detailed knowledge of 2D or 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor).
- Ability to produce comprehensive, clear and accurate manufacturing drawings and general arrangements.
- At least three years experience in a CAD environment.
- Experience in sheet metal design.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and decisive technical judgment.
- Good IT skills – Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm to learn and work with a team.
- Driver’s licence (required).
