Community Psychiatric Nurse – Crisis Home Treatment Team – Birmingham We are currently seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with experience in community crisis care to join our Crisis Home Treatment Team in Birmingham. Key details of the role: Job Role: Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) Band: 6 Location: Birmingham Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension) Schedule: Long Days / Nights (based on service demands) Start Date: ASAP Rate of Pay: £26 – £40 per hour (depending on shift) Role Overview: As a mental health nurse within the Crisis Home Treatment Team, you will play a crucial role in providing urgent care and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises within their own homes. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting home visits to assess and support patients experiencing acute mental health episodes. Administering prescribed medications and ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Engaging with patients and their families to provide emotional support and tailored interventions. Carrying out comprehensive risk assessments to ensure patient and public safety. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic care. Developing and implementing crisis care plans to support recovery and prevent hospital admissions. Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have: An active NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN). Demonstrable experience working in a community or crisis home treatment setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a compassionate approach.
