Red Sky Personnel is currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Eastern Region, initially working on schemes for the Environment Agency. This role will be based in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental objectives
  • Prepare plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation
  • Conduct on-site measurements and measurement of drawings as required
  • Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • Perform ongoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work and provide evidence for dispute resolution
  • Conduct feasibility studies based on client requests
  • Prepare estimates and analyze sub-contractor quotations
  • Prepare and agree variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts
  • Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures

Skills Required

Successful candidates will be ambitious individuals with excellent communication skills, confident with a flexible approach. You should demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate effectively across various levels of construction environments. Strong numeracy and IT skills are essential.

The ideal candidate must have experience working on heavy civil projects and familiarity with the NEC form of contract. Due to the regional nature of this role, candidates must be willing to travel to various sites in Cambridge and East Anglia and hold a full UK driving license. Candidates must also be eligible to work in the UK.
