OUH is looking to recruit a skilled Finance Manager for Costing to join our finance team.

Main duties of the job

  • Work as a member of the costing team, addressing NHS England (NHSE) \’Future of Costing\’ programme and other costing developments.
  • Lead the annual National Cost Collection (NCC) and Education & Training returns.
  • Assist in preparing timely and accurate statutory and non-statutory returns for stakeholders.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the NCC and Education & Training returns annually.
  • Prepare statutory and non-statutory returns for stakeholders.
  • Design and implement changes to costing models to meet \’Future of Costing\’ requirements.
  • Develop monthly Service Line Reporting (SLR) and Patient Level Costing (PLICS).
  • Provide expert costing guidance within the Trust.
  • Maintain and develop Power BI reporting tools.
  • Benchmark services against similar organisations.
  • Design and deliver financial training to finance and non-finance staff.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: AAT Member with significant relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: Fully Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent).

Experience/Skills

  • Essential: Over five years\’ experience in a large organisation\’s finance department, preferably NHS.
  • Essential: Ability to focus on complex calculations for long periods.
  • Essential: Expert knowledge of NHS costing, NCC, and training costs guidance.
  • Essential: Strong analytical skills with large data sets.
  • Desirable: SQL scripting and Oracle financials knowledge.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of NHSPS tariff.
