As a Commercial Analyst, you will primarily be responsible for the financial planning and analysis processes across various business units. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and tasked with analysing figures from sales to profit and providing these insights to the various business units. Specifically, you will work with the Associate Business Planning Director and the Head of Commercial Analysis on implementing the financial analysis, collaborating closely with the Business Planning team in Sega of America.
This role would suit someone with 5+ years of experience in financial planning, analytics, or insights, and would favour someone with strong organizational and communication skills.Key ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, you will:
- Work with the Associate Business Planning Director and the Head of Commercial Analysis on implementing the financial analysis.
- Analyse financial data and provide projections and financial models.
- Analyse P&L and share valuable insights with business units to drive business performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.
- Create a project P&L by communicating with project stakeholders.
- Create budget and forecast management process.
- Support the tracking and auditing of sales versus commercial expectations, and targets.
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential
- 5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience.
- Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methodology.
- Knowledge of general accounting and financial planning.
- Strong attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; Able to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel with experience in PowerPoint.
- A self-motivated individual able to excel both independently and collaboratively on other stakeholder\’s projects.
- Be able to adapt to the company’s working from office guidelines. (3+ days working from office)
Desirable
- Passionate about video games with a good understanding of genres and key video game concepts.
- Knowledge in using visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar).
- Knowledge in database querying (SQL).
- Prior experience in video games / entertainment industry.
- Japanese language at intermediate/expert level
