MBDA are recruiting for a finance professional to play a key role in its Cost Control team. You will be part of a team applying rigorous financial control to the UK Cost Base of MBDA, which involves partnering with leaders in the business, co-ordinating financial planning activities in support of the annual budget and longer term business planning cycles, whilst maintaining and improving best practices as part of a high performing finance team.
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Minimum 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity to act as a business partner to senior business leaders. You will act as counsel, challenge and support their decision making.
Duties include:
- Co-ordination of functional business planning and budgeting activities.
- Functional reporting to senior finance and operational leaders.
- Look to streamline internal reporting requirements, including oversight of discretionary spending budgets and compliance reporting.
- Challenging and reconciling balance sheet entries to ensure confidence in our Statement of Financial Position.
- Identifying opportunities to simplify and standardise internal finance processes, with confidence to lead and implement these improvements.
- Leading the month end closing for your areas of responsibility.
What we\’re looking for from you:
- Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a large multi-national corporate environment.
- Able to operate independently, but also within small project teams.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining robust financial models and interrogating data.
- Ability to build strong and productive working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues, whilst maintaining independence and integrity.
- Experience of presenting/discussing financial data with non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to challenge senior stakeholders within the business to make effective decisions whilst being cost-conscious.
- Proficiency in using Excel, with an understanding of SAP being beneficial.
- Experience of working with geographically diverse teams, with opportunities to travel.
