Outsourced Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/*)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Outsourced Manufacturing Engineer for the Metal and Electronics supplier commodity, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:

Leading and/or supporting Change Management Projects
-
Contributing to the success of our New Product Introduction program by ensuring smooth transitions from scale-up to launch phases with relevant suppliers
-
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, reduce inventory and lead times, decrease costs, improve quality, and optimize footprint/portfolio
-
Coordinating daily operations and activities with suppliers
-
Assessing suppliers\’ technical capabilities to ensure they meet 3M\’s needs and requirements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering fields
-
Previous experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer, or in a similar role
-
Proven experience in supplier performance management within a manufacturing environment
-
Strong project management background
-
Excellent written and spoken English
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Experience managing suppliers in the metal or electronics industries

Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and audit procedures

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Background in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
Job specifics:

Location – UK based located within a commutable distance to one of our manufacturing/office locations to include – Aycliffe, Skelmersdale or Bracknell

Hybrid working pattern is preferred – 2-3 days remote/office

Travel: May include up to 15% -20% domestic/international
