We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop/Garage Manager, for our busy Depots in Raunds and Hoddesdon. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the vehicle maintenance Unit team, to provide a well maintained vehicle fleet and maintain a safe working environment. This is a dual site role and immediate start for the successful candidate.
Hoddesdon (London) / Raunds (Northamptonshire) Will be required to work at both sites.
£47,000 – £52,000 per annum D.O.E+ 10% annual bonus + Company car.
Monday-Friday Day shifts (start and finish times can vary)
Main responsibilities:
- Assume accountability for achieving annualised depot maintenance budget whilst adhering to company strategy and procedures; proactively look at ways to improve the performance of the workshop team.
- Manage the day to day operations of the workshop facility and staff including daily workloads, ensuring that repairs are costs effective and within the agreed company time scales as well as including the legal and audit compliance. Work within and implement a policy of “preventative maintenance”
- People management including delivery of performance review, development and coaching of team; dealing with all employee relations issues
- Monitor, manage and report on the VMU productivity, as well as VMU Budget spend. Ensure all recharge work is captured and invoice in line with recharge procedure
- Ensure efficient management of vehicle VOR and customer support; Interfacing with customers on engineering issues as well as managing nominated 3rd party suppliers to ensure external relationships
- Demonstrate a Health and Safety commitment through embedding the Muller safety culture and engagement across all levels of the function, leading accident and incident investigations
Essential Skills:
- Management experience and appropriate technical qualifications.
- Knowledge of Transportation and Logistics industry
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance
- Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Planning and time management
- Apprentice trained commercial fitter
- Basic knowledge of leading a team
- City Guilds part 1/2
- Confident with the ability to deal with logistics professionals at all levels
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
Desirable Skills:
- National CPC licence
- Refrigeration experience
