The School of Art and Design is seeking an enthusiastic, industry-experienced, and highly motivated Lecturer to join our Interior Design & Architecture teaching team within the School of Art & Design.
In this role, you will work closely with students, stakeholders, and local/national employers to continuously improve and uphold high standards for the benefit of the community. We aim to do the ordinary things extraordinarily well.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with contemporary design skills to lecture across our large, flagship course. You will deliver industry-relevant skills and knowledge to our eager students.
Essential skills and knowledge include:
- SketchUp
- Enscape or similar visualization software
- Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator
- Digital visualization techniques
Desirable skills and knowledge include:
- Subject-specific animation techniques
- Blender
- Virtual Reality (VR)
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, resilient, and eager to seek development opportunities for our course. You should demonstrate an adaptive and flexible teaching style to support and challenge a diverse range of students.
Teaching experience and relevant qualifications are desirable, but we welcome applications from individuals with the right skills and a willingness to engage in self-development.
It is essential that our courses reflect current industry practices. You will play a key role in driving course development to ensure relevance and alignment with contemporary industry needs. You will also be responsible for providing prompt, accurate, and detailed assessments of student work throughout the academic year.
