We\’re looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You\’ll be representing our brands in our customers\’ homes, so you\’ll need to be comfortable talking to customers and getting to know them as well as installing meters.
Your responsibilities will include fitting meters, demonstrating how the meters and in-home displays work, explaining how they can help save energy, and answering any questions about our green energy initiatives.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you\’ll be supported by a dedicated office team sharing the same performance goals, working as one. You\’ll also benefit from Octopus Energy\’s technological resources, enabling us to improve processes and focus more on delivering excellent service.
What you\’ll need:
- MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years with evidence
- Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
What we offer:
- £36,500 starting salary

Call-out and Overtime:
- Rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks (Monday to Sunday), with a £250 retainer. Paid from door to door when called out.
- Saturday working:
- £50 for attendance
- £70 for dual fuel installation
- £35 for single fuel installation

- During the event, you\’ll undergo qualification checks, a practical trade test, and a short interview with an Area Manager. You\’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about working as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus.
Starting salary ranges from £36,500 to £50,000 OTE, including bonuses and on-call pay. Our recruitment process typically takes up to 4 weeks, with support from our team throughout.
