Maintenance Engineer – Blunham (Days)
Our DS Smith site in Blunham is searching for a Multi Skilled Engineer to implement strategic maintenance initiatives in order to increase plant and asset reliability. You will work closely with the Reliability Engineer, Operations, Engineering, OEMs and vendors to develop and implement best practices and improve plant and asset reliability. This role will support the maintenance and reliability of our box‑making machinery.
Shift Details
Days role: 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
But will move to double days 6 am – 2 pm / 2 pm – 10 pm on a rotational basis.
What a Multi Skilled Engineer will be doing at DS Smith
- Work safely at all times, complying with safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements.
- Efficiently and effectively fault‑find and resolve technical/process issues.
- Resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production.
- Complete all maintenance activities on time as planned.
- Provide technical support for capital projects and improvement activities.
- Effectively communicate within and across departments using escalation procedures to manage issues and priorities.
- Comply with company purchasing procedures, stores procedures and maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- Be a proactive team member.

- Electrical and mechanical skills.
