About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in our Access to Education team as a Senior Inclusion Advisor. The successful candidate will join a hard-working team engaging with families, schools and other agencies to ensure children and young people access and progress in education aligned to their needs and circumstances.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced advisor keen to ensure children and young people access high quality and varied alternative provision and are safe, happy, and learning.
The Access to Education team take a positive and inclusive approach in line with our duty to secure suitable full-time education for children and young people in Hounslow.
About The Team Youâll Be Working In
The Access to Education team play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people access the learning they are entitled to. There is a particular focus on those not on school roll or receiving other suitable education.
This diverse role focusses on bringing together expertise within CME, EHE and Fair Access functions to ensure every child or young person has the access they are entitled to, and they are placed at the most suitable provider for them. This involves direct work with families, schools, specialist and advisory services, and sits within a wider Education Inclusion & Participation service in Hounslow.
The team work hard to develop strong, positive relationships with all parties and maintain a clear focus on the progress and needs of the child or young person.
About You

- Being a clear communicator, proactive problem solver and collaborative worker with a clear focus on the importance of children being able to access education.
- Having a sound knowledge of and interest in the legislative framework for Children Missing Education, Elective Home Education, Fair Access, and other Local Authority functions in relation to full-time education for children and young people of compulsory school age.
- Ability to promote collaborative working to ensure a holistic approach, engaging a wide range of professionals in complex casework working with both children and adults as required, to support the team around the child/family process.
Qualifications:
- Substantial experience working directly with families, children and young people, and education, social care and health professionals in the context of any or all the functions â CME, EHE, Exclusions, or Fair Access – is advantageous.
- Related qualifications in mentoring, coaching, work with children, young people, and families are advantageous also.
