Gas Engineer | Commercial or Domestic | West Midlands | Permanent Role | £41-46K Base | £50K-65K OTE per annum. Due to an increase in contract demand, we are currently recruiting for both Domestic and Commercial Gas Engineers in/around the Shropshire region. You will be responsible for servicing and breakdowns on boilers, gas fired water heaters, un-vented cylinders and other similar heating systems. You will be working across both domestic and commercial sized systems, all within commercial use environments. For all Domestic Gas Engineers, following successful completion of your probation period, the business would be willing to fund your commercial changeover and give you a rate increase once passed. Duties: * Be the lead engineer on domestic size boiler and gas fired water heater installations. * Be the lead engineer on small commercial size boiler (if commercially qualified). * Working with a variety of Boiler Manufacturers. * Providing detailed remedial repair reports with information of replacement component parts. * Working on vented and un-vented hot water cylinders. * Working on heating controls such as S-Plan and Y-Plan. * Replacing all component parts such as Gas Valves, PCB’s, TRV’s, zonal heating valves, etc. Employment Package: Gas Engineer * Basic Salary: £41,000 – £46,000 (dependant on domestic / commercial qualifications). * Average yearly earnings: Domestic: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum. Commercial: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum. * Location: Telford & Surrounding Areas – up to circa 50 mile radius. * Full time, permanent role (PAYE), paid weekly. * Environments: Pubs, Restaurants, Care Homes, Nurseries etc. * Hours: 07:00am – 5:30pm (including travelling time, site hours estimated circa 8am – 4:30pm dependant on distance). * D2D travel time to and from work paid after 30 mins each way. * Call out: 1 in 4 weeks. £100 p/w standby allowance (£1,300 per annum) + D2D travel at overtime rates if called out. * Company van, fuel card, uniform, phone provided (business use). * 28 days paid holiday (inc BH) + pension. * Training: After 3 month probation period, the business would be happy to support / fund training and further courses: Commercial Gas (Commercial Changeover). Oil (Oftec), LPG, Comcat. Or other courses to become multi skilled, ie: BMS, F-Gas etc. Rate will also increase in-line with courses passed. Requirements / Candidate Profile: To be considered for the Gas Engineer role, we expect candidiates to meet the following profile: * Essential: Current ACS / Gas Safe Status: CCN1 * Preferred: Commercial Gas Safe COCN1 / CODNCO1 * Experience working on domestic / commercial boilers (qualification dependant), gas fired water heaters, servicing experience, breakdown / fault finding experience, competent with all component replacement (Gas Valves, PCB’s, TRV’s, zonal heating valves, etc.), experience working with heating controls (S-Plan / Y-Plan) etc. * Must have a UK driving license with under 9 points. * Able to attend emergency call outs when on call out standby.
