Hours: 37.5 hrs Full Time (Full Internal Rotation)

The Mental Health Urgent Care Department is a facility where adults, aged 18 years and above, who are experiencing a mental health crisis can receive urgent biopsychosocial assessment with immediate care planning. The post holder will work as a Band 6 Senior Practitioner with the urgent care team providing high quality, evidence-based, holistic assessments to patients attending the service.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care based upon individual service user needs.
  • Provide delegated accountability for Band 3 Health Care Assistants ensuring clinical competence and understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

  • Registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Part 3 or equivalent LD/social work/AHP qualification.
  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
  • Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent.
  • Non-medical prescriber.

Skills/Experience

  • Evidence of personal development e.g. objective setting, time management skills etc.
  • Previous experience with patient triage.
