Social Work Assistant  Leicester 17/02/2025 – 3 months initially Monday to Thursday 8.30-17.00, Friday 8.30-16.30, 37 hrs/week – Office based Provide First Response Screening, handling safeguarding concerns, assessing risk and sharing information when people report abuse or neglect Handling telephone calls and emails in relation to Children’s Social Care as well as urgent referrals to the police Aim help to stop abuse, keep vulnerable children safe and assist families to receive support timely Provide telephone advice and support to families such as directing families to self-help resources, identify where the needs are greater than can be met by advice only and escalate appropriately to a Social Worker/Team Manager, take phone messages and updates for Social Workers Assisting social workers Working with professionals from children’s social care, targeted family help, the police, health and other agencies You will be supervised by qualified social work staff monthly, and be part of a social work POD, benefiting from reflective and developmental, monthly POD meetings Requirements Experience of working in Children’s Services and Customer Services Strong ICT skills, ideally with experience of using Mosaic Excellent communication skills and innate sense of curiosity to ask questions sensitively of professionals and members of the public calling in Ability to work in a fast paced environment, working well under pressure both individually and as part of a team and to work to tight timescales Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services in an equal opportunities employer.
