Technical Sales Manager – Power Burners
The Role
- Implement a sales strategy and drive it through to a successful completion.
- Identify business opportunities by initiating customer contact and developing prospects into enquiries.
- Support customers with front end feasibility and study work, evaluating customer enquiries and developing work scopes. This may involve equipment supply or site service activities.
- Visit customer plants and perform site surveys (EMEA region) and problem solve where needed.
- Develop competitive or innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Carry out process and engineering design, sizing and optimising equipment.
- Obtain supplier pricing and prepare project budgets.
- Coordinate with outside salespersons/agents, project engineers, purchasing, logistics and manufacturing.
- Prepare written technical and commercial proposals.
- Review and negotiate commercial terms and conditions.
- Engage in commercial negotiations and close orders.
- Handover orders to project engineers for execution and provide post order support.

Our client is a well-established Global manufacturer of power generation/combustion equipment to industries including petrochemical, power stations, oil & gas, etc. Their market leading product range includes thermal oxidizers, burners, flare systems and pollution control equipment.
The Candidate
- The role requires a strong all-round engineer with a strong commercial understanding to evolve enquiries from initial enquiry to proposing technical solutions and negotiating contracts.
- A technical or engineering qualification (Mechanical or process engineering) with some practical commissioning or site experience is preferred.
- Experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience selling projects in the UK and EMEA.
- Experience with combustion equipment is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of more than one language is advantageous.
- A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Willing to travel within the UK and internationally (typical 2-3 day trips; travel expenses covered and travel allowance provided).
