Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Glasgow, Perth, Inverness and/or Aberdeen
Salary: £42,600- £75,100+ car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team supporting the Eastern Green Link joint venture projects.
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, you will provide the necessary pre and post contract procurement and commercial support to the largest projects within the SSEN Transmission business. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the SSE JV portfolio and contribute to the continued growth of this area of the business.
You will
- Lead the tender process and manage commercial delivery of capital projects, including oversight of commercial staff.
- Procure essential work scopes ensuring best value, efficiency, and risk mitigation through robust contract negotiation.
- Develop and implement Procurement and Commercial strategies aligned with Capital Projects Governance.
- Engage and influence stakeholders, resolve disputes, and manage costs, forecasts, and change control effectively.
- Support post-contract commercial management and promote safety, while contributing to a world-class procurement service.
You will have
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and have or be working towards professional membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016.
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial governance arrangements for the development and execution of large capital projects together with commercial, contract or cost experience in delivering projects.
- Experience of estimating, sourcing management, cost & budget management, and contract administration
- Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts together with knowledge of Standard Form construction contracts and bespoke contract arrangements. Experience of working with NEC / FIDIC Contracts.
