Welsh Programmes Team Leader – South Wales

We’re looking for a dynamic Team Leader to coordinate and deliver high-quality, client-focused substance misuse programmes across our regional prison sites. You’ll be joining an organisation with a strong social mission and a deep commitment to supporting individuals to overcome addiction, reintegrate into society, and build positive futures.
As Team Leader, you will play a central role in the delivery of psychosocial interventions and accredited programmes for prisoners aged 18 and over, working as part of an integrated healthcare framework. The services use both harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches, tailored to the individual and involves regular travel to prison sites across the region. Flexibility and a proactive, problem-solving attitude are essential.
Your role will include:
- Coordinating the delivery of recovery-focused programmes across multiple projects within your region.
- Line managing and supporting Peer Coordinators and Programme Staff, ensuring effective training, supervision and performance management.
- Leading service delivery to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and clinical standards (including CQC).
- Building collaborative relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders to deliver impactful, joined-up services.
- Monitoring performance and quality, driving improvement through reflective practice, audits and outcomes-focused work.
We’re seeking an experienced and committed leader who brings:
- A strong background in substance misuse services, with experience delivering structured interventions in both 1:1 and group settings.
- Experience of coordinating services and supervising staff or volunteers.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
- A Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication, IT and organisational skills.
We’re especially interested in candidates who have worked in prison settings or with criminal justice-involved clients and who bring lived experience of recovery (with at least 3 years in recovery, if relevant).
