Job Description
We are recruiting for a CAD Engineer to join our client, based in High Wycombe.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and developing technical drawings. You will work closely with the engineering, design, and production departments to create precise 2D and 3D CAD models.A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related technical field is preferred along with CAD Software Certification: e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino.Familiarity with 3D modelling and rendering tools is also beneficial.Duties includeReceive layout drawings from contractor/clientUse AutoCAD to create a backdropExport to Perspective (graphical supervisor software)Use Perspective to populate the database with lighting icons and create a network tree to pre-commission the equipmentProduce and revise technical drawings and schematics ensuring accuracy, clarity and compliance with industry standards and regulationsMaintain organised documentation of designs, revisions, and technical specificationsProvide regular reports on project status and timelinesContribute ideas and solutions to improve product functionality, efficiency, and design, keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the industrySkills and ExperienceAttention to Detail: meticulous, ensuring all designs and technical drawings are accurateStrong problem-solving skills for tackling design challenges, troubleshooting issues, and finding innovative solutions to improve functionality and efficiencyStrong Analytical Skills to analyse complex design challenges, assess the feasibility of ideas, and ensure the designs meet functional requirementsGood Communication Skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding design requirements, and presenting ideas or issues clearly to stakeholdersAble to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines especially when juggling multiple projects or working under tight timelinesOpenness to learning new tools, and techniques, and adapting to changes in project requirements or industry trendsPlease note that we will only contact those candidates that we assess as suitable for the positions we have currently available based on their experience, training, and skills.
