The Company
My client is a leading Main / Principal Interiors Contractor, providing products and services to create high end luxury interior environments in the High End Residential, Leading Hotels and Restaurants throughout UK. They focus on winning complex and interesting projects covering all aspects of construction, major structural adaptations, cut & carves extensions before refurbishing and fitting out to the very highest of standards.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role
They are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor whose main job purpose would be to have an active role with assisting with the implementation of all commercial aspects of the project through working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor and site delivery team, while continuing to learn and develop your understanding of all aspects of a project through day-to-day involvement
Other duties would include;
Assist the commercial team, where necessary, to implement work winning strategy at procurement stage
Understanding how to identify any risks and opportunities
Engagement with subcontractors including assisting with tender enquiries
Assisting the Project Procurement in accordance with delivery programme
Assist in the implementation of the Tender Event Schedule
Preparing Tender Documentation
Analyse tender returns and being part of the negotiation process through to proposing subcontractor
Preparation of Sub-Contract Orders
Responsibility for selected trade packages
The Successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
Knowledge of the construction process including both new build and fit-out / refurbishment.
Experience in the majority of the above roles & responsibilities
Degree qualified or NVQ, BTEC or Higher National equivalent
1 to 3 years full time experience in a surveying role with a leading reputable main / principal contractor
Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages
Good verbal and written communication skills
