About The Role
The Thames Water Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is looking for an Apprentice Business Administrator. The role will initially be based at Bracknell Treatment Works.
Administrators, sometimes known in construction settings as Document Control Officers, need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and help increase business productivity. The function is integral to any construction organization as they process and manage various procedures, paperwork, communications, permits, orders, etc. Duties typically include:
- Using content management systems to maintain internal databases;
- Organizing and storing paperwork, documents, and computer-based information;
- Devising and maintaining office systems;
- Booking rooms, attending meetings, taking minutes, and keeping notes;
- Managing and maintaining budgets, as well as invoicing;
- Liaising with staff in other departments and external contacts;
- Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment;
- Sorting and distributing incoming post and organizing outgoing post;
- Photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of colleagues;
- Organizing and delivering site inductions;
- Collecting and storing health and safety documentation;
- Using software packages like Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access to produce correspondence, maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets, and databases.
Typical Work Pattern
40 hours per week with start times typically between 07:00 and 08:00, including paid 8 hours at college.

Key Training/College Information
K10 will enroll you in the Level 3 Business Administration course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider.
The apprenticeship lasts 18-24 months.
To qualify, you must:
- Have lived in England for the last 3 years and have the right to work;
- Not be enrolled in other courses;
- Be 18+ due to site health & safety rules;
- Hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
