Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a growing ICP, who provide end to end solutions across sustainable and renewable infrastructure, focusing on substations, EV, and other renewable assets. Together we are looking for an SAP Project Engineer to support with the growth and pipeline of projects.

The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) will play a vital role in delivery of HV and LV installations, ensuring all electricity networks are installed to a safe, professional, and high-quality standard. The SAP role comes with a competitive package.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate on-site teams working on both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) electrical networks.
  • Support the testing and final commissioning phases of LV and HV distribution systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage project delivery as well as respond to fault call-outs as required.
  • Conduct site audits, generate detailed reports, and monitor project budgets and team performance to ensure efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and training of team members progressing towards LV or HV Authorised Person status.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Fulfil the role of Standby Engineer, supporting the organisation’s extensive operations and maintenance portfolio.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Currently hold (or have previously held) authorisations up to 33kV, including Permit to Work (candidates with authorisations up to 11kV will also be considered).
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Personal skills

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong safety awareness with a proven track record of identifying potential hazards and taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of all personnel on site.
  • Experience in producing comprehensive RAMS and experienced in issuing and closing associated documentation.
  • Flexibility to attend sites as required, including availability to work weekends at enhanced rates.
