As a Critical Services Shift Technician (Electrical) at Integral UK, you will be working across a prominent client site in Canary Wharf.
Shift Pattern: Days only shift pattern
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide a skilled maintenance service to meet the desired standards, specifications and competency levels required
- Respond to customer requests in compliance with agreed service levels.
- Participate in operation of shift with other team members.
- Act as Performing Authority for Permit Control Process.
- Act as a competent person issuer for contractors on Control of Works and Risk assessments/Method Statements
- Perform duties of an Electrical/Mechanical Competent Person as defined within local site rules
Duties:
- Working as part of a shift team operating a rotating shift system. Be willing and flexible to work occasional overtime to provide cover for annual leave / sickness
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs on electrical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and lighting systems.
- Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems to ensure optimum performance and compliance with industry standards, particularly in a high-pressure environment.
- Respond to and resolve electrical faults promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime, ensuring all work is logged and documented.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to execute maintenance activities with minimal disruption to the client\’s operations.
- Maintain electrical/mechanical plant and services at client sites to appropriate industry standards.
- Undertake maintenance procedures, regular checks and routine inspections on equipment in conjunction with the maintenance team to a satisfactory time scale.
- Ensure the continuous operation of the installed system.
- Undertake repair and minor works associated with the installed services relevant to their job designation and small new installation projects on a self-perform basis.
- Assist and enhance service delivery through best practice and the effective use of site systems, equipment and time
- Carry out personal risk assessments of maintenance and repair activities.
- Complete service reports and data entry on to CMMS system within a required time scale.
- Maintain and review stock levels, spares requirement through audit and timely ordering of parts
- Attend to and supervise specialist contractors during service visits as required.
- Communicate with all relevant parties and team members to a good recordable standard.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a critical or high-security environment, such as data centers, financial institutions, or industrial sites.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building services, and control systems.
- Experience working with critical systems such as UPS, standby generators, and associated systems.
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Able to work as part of a busy team
- Flexible in approach to work scheduling
