Make a Difference in Lancaster
Join us as a Leisure Assistant (Lifeguard) and play a vital role in keeping our community safe and active. You’ll ensure the wellbeing of all visitors at the Leisure Centre, delivering excellent customer service and supporting a welcoming, inclusive environment. Your work will directly contribute to the health, safety, and enjoyment of people of all ages and abilities across Lancaster.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll maintain safety by supervising the pool and responding swiftly to any incidents or emergencies. Your day-to-day tasks include setting up equipment, organising activities like school holiday programmes and birthday parties, and supporting other departments such as Gym and Fitness Classes. You’ll keep up with training and qualifications, carry out health and safety checks, and help create a positive experience that encourages repeat visits.

You’re a team player with a flexible approach and a strong sense of ownership. You take pride in delivering high standards and work well with others to achieve shared goals. You’ll need good swimming ability and the willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check. Previous leisure experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided.
