Planner role at Network Plus
Reporting into the Streetworks & Planning Manager, the Planner is the key contact before works for the operational team. The role carries full accountability for the planning and streetworks aspects of all works before they commence on site. The Planner will ensure that operational teams are able to undertake their work in line with the received push plans and requested dates, comply with NRSWA, and that timescales are adhered to, minimising any financial impact to the company.
Location: Worsley
Compensation: £30,000 – £32,000 / year
Contract: 9‑month fixed‑term covering maternity leave
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with operations teams to maximise productivity
- Manage resources effectively to ensure productivity is maximised
- Validate and transmit notice requests in a timely manner
- Escalate compliance issues where appropriate
- Liaise with local authorities and client representatives
- Run daily reports as required
- Coordinate with other third parties (e.g., parking suspensions, bus stop suspensions, road closures)
- Identify potential risks to productivity or noticing compliance within the schedule
- Monitor and chase any outstanding issues
- Use initiative, prioritise workload and work unsupervised
- Perform any ad‑hoc activities required to support the contract
- Own any highway‑related queries to resolution
- Maintain communication channels with client and operational teams
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of the NRSWA/TMA activity
Experience and Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills – work closely with streetworks administrators and operational teams to ensure programme and NRSWA compliance
- Strong performance management – manage daily tasks and time to meet timescales, escalating when information is incomplete
- Operational understanding – knowledge of how works take place on site to assist and process requests from site
- Customer‑focused – build relationships with clients and highway authorities for collaborative working
- Legislative understanding – required knowledge of NRSWA legislation to aid compliance
- Systems proficiency – use Cadent SAP, Streetworks Manager system and programmes correctly, and know how to extract required information from these systems and trackers
