Graduate English Academic Mentor

We are currently recruiting Graduate English Academic Mentors to work across several secondary schools in the Wembley area. This is an outstanding opportunity for graduates who want to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience in education while building a clear pathway into teacher training programmes such as PGCE, Schools Direct, or Teach First.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who want to develop their classroom confidence, subject knowledge, and understanding of secondary education before formally training.

The Role

  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 English lessons.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions to improve literacy, reading, and writing skills.
  • Work closely with English teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom learning.
  • Help students build confidence in English, particularly those who need additional support.
  • Assist with lesson resources, marking, and progress tracking where appropriate.
  • Gain invaluable insight into teaching and school life.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A 2:1 degree or above in English or a related subject.
  • A genuine interest in education and a clear ambition to become a teacher.
  • Strong communication skills and a confident, professional attitude.

  • No previous school-based experience is required — full training and support will be provided.
