A leading scientific organisation is seeking a proactive Lab Technician to join their team and support a diverse range of particle and powder characterisation, as well as formulation development projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are adaptable, eager to learn new laboratory techniques, and confident in troubleshooting equipment.

They understand the criticality of de-risking solid form selection, optimising particle engineering, and understanding the link between particle properties and product performance. From their state-of-the-art facilities in Sandwich, UK, they provide lab and consultancy services tailored to meet customers\\\’ needs, timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct particle and powder characterisation using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g., laser diffraction, surface area analysis, microscopy, powder flow testing, compaction studies).
  • Assist with formulation development, including blending, granulation, mixing, and sample preparation.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Accurately record, analyse, and present experimental results.
  • Adhere to laboratory quality systems (experience with GLP/GMP/ISO is advantageous).
  • Maintain high standards of safety and laboratory housekeeping.
  • Work flexibly to support evolving project needs and new techniques.

Key requirements

  • Some laboratory experience (academic or industrial) and basic competence in lab skills.
  • Familiarity with particle or powder characterisation is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and structured protocols.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and support formulation tasks.
