Working for a global test organisation, you will be responsible for day to day EMC testing of commercial products. This is an interesting and varied role that would suite a newly qualified EMC/RF/Electronics technician who has a real interest in test engineering. Or a a graduate who has studied RF or EMC applications.. You will be working as part of a small team of EMC test Engineers at one of the several labs based around the UK.
Responsibilities
- As an EMC Test Technician you will be tasked with testing various products to the relevant EMC standards applicable to each unit.
- Work closely with other EMC Engineers and Technicians to expedite projects; problem solving to ensure a smooth and consistent workflow.
- Accurate recording of results.
- Check test data and outputs to identify errors or issues, addressing quickly and efficiently wherever needed.
- Ensure work is carried out accurately and within the agreed timescales.
- Make sure reports are compiled correctly and meet expectations of all involved.
The Person
- HND/Degree or an equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of RF test equipment such as:
- Spectrum Analysers
- Signal Generators
- RF Power Amplifiers
- Power Meters
- Working knowledge of EMC specification and accreditation requirements would be beneficial.
- Electrical knowledge is a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A positive attitude
- Ability and desire to learn
- Being responsible for their actions and taking proactive ownership of projects
- Actively working in, and communicating with, a small team
- Demonstrating reliability, flexibility and enthusiasm
