School Swimming Teacher
Ready for an exciting career in the Leisure industry?
We have a great opportunity for a qualified Swimming Instructor (STA Award/Certificate or SEQ Level 2). You will instruct, coach, and teach designated activities appropriate to the ability level, age, and target groups. You will teach life skills, relay information clearly, organize lesson plans, assess progress, ensure safety, and build customer confidence in water.
You will deliver high-quality lessons to around 32 schools in the area, following Swim England School criteria. Halo centres are vital community assets, well supported and used by the local population, with growth potential. You will play a key role in the centre\’s future.
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: 2 x 15.5 hours, 1 x 9 hours
Shifts: Monday – Friday, 10:00-11:30 am and 1:00-2:30 pm. Term time only.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver swimming lessons to improve customer skills and confidence
- Provide feedback to help customers improve
- Ensure safety and awareness of water risks
- Meet performance targets
- Maintain a safe, clean activity environment and manage resources
- Support your centre, manager, and colleagues
- Promote company values and expectations
- Support colleagues and participate in training
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Respect privacy rights
- Take responsibility for performance and engagement
- Follow policies, procedures, and emergency plans
Skills, Qualities, and Experience
- Experience instructing mixed abilities and ages
- Knowledge of the National Plan for Swimming Teaching
- Good communication skills
- Flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Willingness to achieve NRASTC Light qualification (provided by Halo)
