Product/UX Designer

Contract – Inside IR35

£400 – £500 per day negotiable

London – Hybrid

We are hiring a Product/UX Designer to join a growing front-office technology team within a major financial services player. This is a hands-on design role focused on internal tools used by portfolio managers, analysts and traders, where clarity, usability and workflow optimisation matter more than consumer-style visual polish.

You will work across the full design lifecycle. That includes collaborating with business users to understand their goals, mapping complex workflows, prototyping user journeys in Figma, and working closely with developers to bring designs into production. With a new design system now in place, the focus is shifting to applying consistent design thinking across a wide range of applications.

This role suits someone who enjoys solving practical usability problems in data-rich environments and is confident working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with investment professionals to understand user needs and identify friction points
  • Translate complex financial workflows into intuitive screens and journeys
  • Use Figma to prototype responsive designs that follow the firm’s design system
  • Work with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively
  • Help apply and evolve the design system across new and existing tools

What we are looking for

  • Experience designing enterprise tools or data-heavy applications (financial services is helpful but not essential)
  • Strong Figma skills including components, variants and shared libraries
  • Ability to simplify dense workflows into clean, usable interfaces
  • Comfortable communicating design decisions with developers, product managers and business stakeholders
  • A pragmatic mindset focused on usability and performance rather than surface-level aesthetics

This is not a consumer design role. You will be supporting sophisticated users making high-impact decisions in fast-paced environments. If you are interested in meaningful problem-solving and practical design and interested in working for a large finance player in a front office environment, apply now for a fast turnaround!
