We are currently looking for a Baby Centre Manager to join our team in our Epsom nursery. They will be responsible for the daily running of the centre, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00, 42.50 hours per week. They will gain support from the Nursery Management team. We are based within the town centre, which is a short walk from the train station.
Our 100 place nursery offers five age-appropriate rooms and ensures the children can develop within their age range and at their own pace. We also offer a large, well-equipped garden, a smart board, and our very own soft play area, with the baby centre based within a separate purpose-built building.
Our baby centre offers care for up to 16 children a day, aged between 3 months and 18 months. The centre has a large open-plan play area with various play spaces, including a book corner and construction area, and offers a separate kitchen area for the children during meal times. The upstairs features a soft play area, a ball pit, and additional play areas.
Main Duties Include:
- Being responsible for and managing the day-to-day running of the Baby Centre.
- Ensuring the nursery meets all legal requirements.
- Planning, preparing, and reviewing the curriculum with your team, reflective of the EYFS, and providing support on weekly and medium-term planning, ideas, and next steps.
- Implementing and supporting others in delivering the EYFS in line with current practices and guidelines, ensuring the individual needs and interests of the children in our care are met.
- Reading through observations and summaries; ensuring they are up to date, appropriate, and of a high standard.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are implemented.
- Working in partnership with parents.
- Providing effective leadership and management of the Baby Centre team, undertaking regular performance reviews, team meetings, and staff supervisions as required.
- Developing open and positive working relationships with staff and liaising with other Room leaders to provide smooth transitions for children.
- Being professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members at all times.
- Working with the manager and outside agencies.
- Attending parents’ evenings, staff meetings, professional development training, and any other events as requested by the management team.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Owner, in accordance with the setting.
- Supporting new team members, including staff inductions and providing support on planning, progress trackers, summaries, and profiles.
- Meeting with potential new parents and showing them around the Baby Centre, arranging new child induction and settling-in sessions.
- Ensuring all displays are kept fresh, neat, and up to date.
- Supporting staff undertaking qualifications, ensuring time out is shared evenly and when possible.

To be considered for this role:
- Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, Safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
- At least 2 years post-qualifying experience working within the Early Years.
- Being a reliable team member and able to support others as and when required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
- Excellent timekeeping and the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
- Good communication and organisation skills.
- Be highly motivated and driven.
- Experience of working knowledge of Special Educational Needs.
- Current Paediatric First Aid qualification.
