Are you a passionate, resilient, and experienced teacher with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A school in Essex is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist setting that is truly pupil-centred. You\’ll be joining a strong and supportive team that understands the value of trauma-informed practice, flexible teaching strategies, and meaningful, relationship-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong, consistent relationships that foster emotional regulation and self-confidence
  • Deliver creative and adapted lessons to meet the needs of SEMH learners
  • Support pupils with diverse learning profiles including Autism, ADHD, and anxiety
  • Work closely with TAs, pastoral staff, and external professionals
  • Implement clear routines, positive behaviour management, and therapeutic strategies
  • Track academic, social, and emotional progress

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working in an SEMH or high-needs SEND environment
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Calm, consistent behaviour management and communication style
  • A relational and trauma-informed approach to learning
  • A passion for helping pupils re-engage in education
