We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Facilities Services Team as a Porter/Facilities Assistant at John Eastwood Hospice, who are responsible for all our patient and non patient areas. This role also includes serving of food to patients at meal times.

Previous experience of working within a Domestic, Cleaning, Catering environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday; 12.30pm to 4.30pm. This position is not required to work on Weekends and Bank Holidays but there may be occasions where there may be a requirement to cover shifts on these days.

We have in-house training to help your personal development plans and will support you with all of your training needs.

Facilities Assistants/Domestic Assistants should have the ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team. Maintaining a high standard of work will be essential.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
