Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver \”better trained sailors to the front line faster\”.

This exciting role has been designed to reflect and support key aspects of our new ways of working as part of a modernisation programme. You will work to develop the digital skills of our Royal Marine learners and encourage the use of new technology across the learning community. Additionally, you will support individual students in their use of digital learning platforms to improve the chances of success in English and Maths (Functional Skills)

This role is working 24 hours a week ideally Tues/Weds/Thurs (open to negotiation)

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What you\’ll be doing

• Coaching learners in the use of digital platforms to achieve qualifications in English and Maths
• Encouraging the use of new eLearning modules
• Providing advice and guidance on courses available
• Administering, maintaining, and updating records including exam related activities and monthly data reports
• Occasional travel to other sites in Scotland to support

What we\’re looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Minimum of GCSE in English & Maths or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and use of Digital platforms
• Be in possession of or willing to work towards level 3 in teaching

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of SpLD
• Experience of working in the education sector
• Previous coaching and or mentoring experience
• Any knowledge of the military would be highly desirable

About Selborne

Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
