Electrical Motor Winder Job Summary: Due to the expansion of the current business, they are seeking to recruit winders for both High & Low Voltage rotating equipment. This is a multi-disciplined role, covering coil installation, connecting, and testing of both AC and DC rotating equipment. This includes the winding of stators, rotors, armatures, and exciters. As a winder you will be operating various pieces of winding equipment, from producing and forming of coils, insulating to inserting, connecting, and insulating windings. Connection of windings will incorporate various connection methods including Gas, Induction, Tig brazing and soldering. Also, you will conduct in-stage electrical testing during all winding activities. The role may entail both on-site and off-site/overseas working. My client are providing high technology support and solutions for all rotating electrical machines, control & protection systems, and power electronics. The successful candidate will have previous experience in rotor & stator winding Key Responsibilities: * Winding of Electrical rotating equipment; including coil installation, connecting, and testing of both High & Low Voltage assemblies. * Producing both pre-form and concentrated coils. * Preparation of major components prior to winding. * Operation of capital equipment and tools. * Ability to conduct local repair works on service contracts. * Use of testing equipment. * Diagnose and fault find. * Use of both hand and power tools safely and effectively. * Adhere to the required Industry Standard Quality Systems – ISO 9001. * Maintaining a safe and clean working area. Qualifications & Education: NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering. Understanding of Rotating Electrical Machines. Experience: * Either time served or experienced in winding the following: – * Coil installation and connecting of 3-phase stator windings. * Coil installation and connecting of 2-pole rotors. * Winding of Exciters, Armatures and DC rotors. * An understanding of different insulation materials & Systems * Brazing using both manual and semi-automatic techniques. Both Mechanical and Electrical aptitude. Ability to conduct in-stage electrical tests. Experience of working in an engineering manufacturing environment. Skills: Good hand fitting skills/techniques. Taping and banding skills. Good understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings. Excellent Communication. Good attention to details. Ability to work both independently and in small groups. Excellent problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements: Manual Handling/Lifting. Labour intensive operations. Full UK Driving License. UK or National Passport.
