About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the rollout, integration, and maintenance of telecom radio access sites across the region. Working on behalf of a leading telecom vendor, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering and maintaining network infrastructure for major operators.

This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to individuals with proven expertise in telecom radio site activities, including installation, commissioning, fault resolution, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, commissioning, and integration of radio access network (RAN) equipment at mobile and fixed-line telecom sites.
  • Perform upgrades, swaps, and decommissioning of existing radio equipment.
  • Conduct on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Complete and submit accurate site documentation, test results, and reports.
  • Work with project managers, network engineers, and OEMs to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, site standards, and industry best practices.
  • Travel across sites as required and be available for occasional out-of-hours support or on-call rotations.
  • Proven experience in telecom radio site installation, integration, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with equipment from major vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei).
  • Strong understanding of RAN technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G).
  • Hands-on experience with fiber and coax cabling, power systems, and RF testing tools.
  • Able to interpret site drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Valid certifications such as:
  • Rooftop Access / Working at Height
  • First Aid
  • Electrical Safety / DC Power Awareness
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regionally or nationally.
  • Experience with small cell, DAS, or private network deployments.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for reporting (e.g., Site Tracker, Excel, mobile apps).
  • Vendor-specific training or accreditations (e.g., Ericsson RBS, Nokia Flexi, Huawei BTS).
