Based onsite at our Belfast NOC Help strengthen our Team as our 24*7 NOC Engineer onsite at our Belfast NOC.

Working 2 set of day shifts, so 4 days on (7am to 7pm), 4 days off, then 4 days on again, 4 days off and then do 2 set of night shifts so 4 nights on (7pm to 7am), 4 nights off, 4 nights on again, 4 nights off. Then start with days again.

Capita TechOps – 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer

Capita TechOps is seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT/Network Engineer to join our dynamic Operations Centre team. Based in Belfast, you\’ll be part of a 24/7 shift team supporting critical infrastructure and resolving network/IT incidents with precision and professionalism.

You\’ll collaborate closely with Network Engineering and Service Delivery teams to ensure high-quality service delivery across a vital client base. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving technical challenges while delivering excellent customer service-this role is for you.

What you will be doing

• Act as the first point of escalation for customer calls.
• Log and manage faults/service requests via Remedy, resolving over 95% at first touch.
• Work within strict SLAs to ensure timely resolutions.
• Maintain accurate shift handovers and keep support tickets up to date.
• Keep customers informed throughout the fault lifecycle.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran switches, routers, DSLAMs, modems and other IT Systems.
• Manage circuit faults across ADSL, SDSL, Ethernet, NGA, MPF, and SMPF.
• Liaise with third-party engineers and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Support field engineers with remote configurations and link checks.
• Monitor network health using SolarWinds.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in IT Helpdesk or NOC environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in IT/Networking, with appropriate escalation practices.
• Background in enterprise network support; CCNA certification or equivalent experience preferred, Windows OS and server support.
• Experience working with third-party suppliers and managing escalations.
• Familiarity with ITIL service environments and SLA adherence.
• High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Eligible for Security Clearance.
• Foster respectful, collaborative relationships.
• Communicate openly and contribute to team success.
